Full Journal pdf1998-05-12 House Journal Page 3927 SB 350 The following, which was advanced to third reading from the May 11, 1998 First Supplemental calendar (page 3836), was read the third time: 1998-05-12 House Journal Page 3928 SB 350 HOUSE CS FOR CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 350(FIN) "An Act relating to tourism and tourism marketing; eliminating the Alaska Tourism Marketing Council; and providing for an effective date." Representative Kott moved and asked unanimous consent that HCS CSSB 350(FIN) be returned to second reading for the specific purpose of considering Amendment No. 1. Objection was heard. The Speaker stated that, without objection, HCS CSSB 350(FIN) would be returned to the Rules Committee. Representative Kott moved and asked unanimous consent that the House rescind action in returning HCS CSSB 350(FIN) to the Rules Committee. There being no objection, it was so ordered. HCS CSSB 350(FIN) was again before the House in third reading with a motion pending to return to second reading for the specific purpose of considering Amendment No. 1. There being no further objection, it was so ordered. Amendment No. 1 was offered by Representative Kott: Page 3, line 25, following "contract.": Insert "If the qualified trade association with the right of first refusal declines a tourism related contract, the contract may be awarded to another qualified trade association only if it provides matching funds equal to at least 30 percent of the amount of the contract." Page 5, line 24, following "contract.": Insert "If the qualified trade association with the right of first refusal declines a tourism related contract, the contract may be awarded to another qualified trade association only if it provides matching funds equal to at least 60 ¦30á percent of the amount of the contract." 1998-05-12 House Journal Page 3929 SB 350 Representative Kott moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 1 be adopted. Objection was heard. Representative Kubina placed a call of the House and lifted the call. Representative Porter moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 1 be withdrawn. There being no objection, it was so ordered. The question being: "Shall HCS CSSB 350(FIN) pass the House?" Representative Porter moved and asked unanimous consent that the roll call on the passage of the bill be considered the roll call on the effective date clause. There being no objection, it was so ordered. HCS CSSB 350(FIN) was referred to the Chief Clerk for engrossment.
